New York City is known for their outdoor festivals, and Governor’s Ball kicks off the summer festival season annually in June. Since 2011 over 50,000 music fans have traveled to Randall’s Island Park in New York for three days of the biggest names in rock, hip hop and pop music. In the past attendees enjoyed such artists as The Strokes, Kendrick Lamar, Kings of Leon and Haim. It’s not uncommon for bands to play Governor’s Ball just before breaking big on the charts. Multiple stages fill the park offering different artists throughout the day. Food trucks and vendor tents surround the stages offering a variety of food and drink options. It is a fun way to spend an early summer weekend.
